Have you ever wanted to try charcoal? Watercolors? Pastels?

Come and try all of them and more with LRMA’s Education Assistant, Nina Rivera, as she leads an unstructured, open-studio program for visitors to unleash their creativity! Visitors are encouraged to utilize and experiment with the wide variety of wet and dry art materials that will be provided during this special hands-on event. A serendipitous piece of artwork is right at your fingertips – bring it to life! Be sure to arrive early and stroll through the galleries before the program. (Please pay at the Visitors Services Desk upon arrival)

For this enriching program, LRMA’s knowledgeable docents research a new or seldom-seen artwork from the collection and then present it to the public on first Fridays from September through November and February through May. Each work stays on view until the next is unveiled.

March’s selections, presented by docents Lyn Tebrugge and Barbara Schnipper, are Untitled (Abstract Figures), a lithograph, and The Chupah (Sparrow That Never Returned), a sculpture of metal and found objects, both by Esther Gentle. In addition, special guest B. J. Star of the National Organization for Women will present a program honoring Women’s History Month (March).

• Docent presenter: Carol Zino
