ABC (Art, Books and Community) Reading Club

Palm Harbor Library Director Gene Coppola facilitates this bimonthly program held at the museum. Members select and discuss books about modern and contemporary art and on alternating months enjoy guest speaker presentations in the Fine Arts Auditorium.

November’s book selection is The Art of Rivalry: Four Friendships, Betrayals, and Breakthroughs in Modern Art by art critic Sebastian Smee.

Support SPC-TS art students and view their end-of-term show organized by the Fine Arts Department. An exhibition of the winning entries will open in the museum’s Interactive Gallery at a later date.

LRMA Holiday Celebration

To welcome the holiday season, the museum will host a choral performance by the Tarpon Springs Middle School choir under the direction of Amber Turcott, Director of Vocal and Guitar Studies. The choir, part of the Leadership Conservatory for the Arts at the school, will perform a selection of holiday-themed songs in the Fine Arts Building Lobby, where the acoustics are nearly perfect. The afternoon will also include hands-on art activities inspired by December holidays, a guided tour of the galleries at 3:00 p.m. and light seasonal refreshments.

Palm Harbor Library Director Gene Coppola leads this art-centered discussion program held at the museum. December’s program is a visual tour of the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, a former Beaux-Arts railway station, which houses art from 1848-1914 and includes the largest collection of impressionist and post-impressionist works in the world.
