January 15 – February 5, 2017
In the 42nd Annual International Miniature Art Show, presented by the Miniature Art Society of Florida, approximately 800 works of art will be shown, including the Society’s permanent collection of more than 100 miniatures. Entries from around the world and across the country provide a wonderful diversity of subject matter and framing techniques. Founded in 1974, in Clearwater, Florida, The Miniature Art Society of Florida is dedicated to raising awareness of the public and collectors to the delicate beauty and refinement of this venerable art form. Throughout the duration of the show, artists will be present to demonstrate their techniques.
Visitors are welcome to talk to and observe artists while they work. Whether they are working in oil, watercolor, scrimshaw, pencil or sculpture, most of the artists create under magnification, using a variety of mediums and methods, delicate tools and the tiniest of brushes for painting. Demonstrators may be from England, Canada and the United States and include local Florida artists.
