Picture My Life: A Photographic Exhibition

September 21 – November 3, 2019 • Interactive Gallery

In partnership with the Tampa Bay Chapter of the United Nations Association of The United States of America, the Refugee & Migrant Women’s Initiative (RAMWI), and Photography by Avery, the Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art is proud to present Picture My Life, an exhibition of photography. This project offers insight into the lives and experiences of eleven refugee  youth living in Tampa Bay while enriching their lives through a photographic mentoring program.

The children have received high-quality cameras to keep as their own and have been using them to learn the basics of photographic arts. In addition to learning a new skill, the youth use the medium of photography as a tool to share their experiences. Come and enjoy the show at the Museum, and continue to enjoy the photos for years to come – all images displayed are available for purchase, and aids in the continuation of this project.
