Leonard Baskin, Ars Anatomica: A Medical Fantasy
Works on Paper Gallery
Dec. 1, 2015 – Feb. 28, 2016
The Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art has an extensive collection of prints by American graphic artist Leonard Baskin (1922-2000) that have been generously given over the years by donor Lothar J. Uhl. Many of these works were featured in the 2006 special exhibition Weird and Wonderful: Graphics by Leonard Baskin. A fascinating boxed portfolio of thirteen prints entitled Ars Anatomica: A Medical Fantasy, based on anatomical drawings created from Baskin’s imagination, will be on view this winter in the Works on Paper Gallery. This is the first time the framed prints have been shown at LRMA.
