Can I donate a work of art to the museum?

Yes. However, donation of artwork to LRMA is accomplished through an extensive vetting process. Please do not bring your work of art directly to the museum. Visit our Gifts of Art page for more information about how to begin the process.

Can you help me obtain an appraisal of artwork I own?

Unfortunately, museum staff cannot appraise or authenticate works of art or recommend specific appraisers.  To locate an appraiser, visit the websites listed below of the following professional organizations:

It is important to find an appraiser that specializes in the work you are seeking information about.  Be advised that many appraisers charge an hourly rate for their services. If you need an appraisal for estate planning purposes, it is important to use someone who is certified to make the evaluation.

If you are seeking this information for personal reasons, it is advisable to check on auction records to make your own educated valuation. You can try the sites listed below to find past auction information.  Some of these require a paid account to access the databases. Check with your local library to see if they may have an account you can use to do your research.
